Try Before You Buy Features

The interesting feature in the update is that it lets users access Game Trials, so that they can try the full version before purchasing the game.

This can help reduce the risk of buyer’s remorse since you get the option of trying the game before the purchase. The trials for Google Play’s new feature will launch soon on mobile and will expand to PC later.

This feature joins the Buy Once, Play Anywhere pricing model, already available for games like the Reigns series, OTTTD, and Dungeon Clawler, where a single purchase gives you access to both the mobile and PC versions.

Add-on: Mastering Games with Sidekick & Community

Google Play Games Sidekick is an in-game AI overlay, which now supports select paid games downloaded from the Google Play Store.

Other than that, it also delivers real-time, AI-generated Game Tips to help during tough battles without leaving the game.

On the other hand, Community Posts, available in English for dozens of popular titles, allow you to create spaces for players to share tips, ask questions, and connect. More languages and games are coming soon.

Google Play’s focus remains player-centric, with more 2026 improvements ahead for discovery and mastery. Developers can tap these tools to grow their audience, too.

Play Everywhere

Looking at this update by Google, it seems like the company is trying to create a base by letting users access the gaming library and experience which game is worth buying, which is a smart move because then the user won’t regret buying a game that they could have tried first.

This update will save you from this guilt for sure, as you can first try and then buy.
