According to the rumours, Apple is focusing on a design that minimises or nearly removes the crease, while keeping the folded thickness in the sub-10mm range to avoid feeling bulky. Apple will not be experimenting with the tri-fold concept; instead, it will stick with the single-fold design.
If we talk about the battery, it is rumoured to lean on a bigger battery in the 5,000mAh-plus range. For Apple, this will be a huge step, since it has always played around with smaller-sized batteries for its iPhone lineup. That said, a bigger battery is a necessary step for the huge inner display to work without worrying about constant charging.
Camera leaks mention that there will be up to four cameras in total, including dual selfie cameras for better selfies and video calls when the phone is open.
Rumours suggest that the iPhone Fold will be powered by a next-generation A-series chip, accompanied by ample RAM and storage options of up to 1TB, which is capable of handling multitasking and gaming.

Recently, at the CES 2026, a Samsung display was unveiled with a crease-free foldable OLED panel, which is believed to be the tech for Apple’s iPhone Fold.
While Samsung supplies the OLED panels, Apple has designed its own panel structure, lamination methods, and material processes to differentiate the iPhone Fold experience
The panel eliminates visible creases even at angles, unlike the Samsung Z Fold 7’s subtle fold line, which will enable seamless text across the hinge. Other than that, it uses a laser-drilled metal plate from Fine M-Tec to disperse bending stress, with Apple designing unique lamination and materials.

As of now, all these are speculations; however, most reports still place the launch window sometime in late 2026. Although there are chances that the issues around the hinge and display tech could push things further, or keep early stock limited.
Naturally, the price range is expected to sit above the standard Pro models, with estimates starting north of the typical flagship price bracket.
