Xiaomi is all set for the global release of the camera-focused flagship, Xiaomi 17 Ultra Leica Edition. Launched in China on December 25, 2025, the company is eyeing a global release soon, although there are no official details regarding the global release.

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra Leica Edition features a big 6.9-inch LTPO AMOLED screen with a refresh rate up to 120Hz. It also supports Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and peak brightness up to 3500 nits. Being a flagship, it will be powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, and will feature up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB UFS 4.1 storage. The phone runs on HyperOS 3.0 on Android 16.
The main highlight of this Leica-tuned phone is a triple camera setup that includes a 50MP main sensor along with with a 200MP periscope telephoto lens and a 50MP ultra-wide lens.

Other than that, it packs in Leica-exclusive features, such as the Master Zoom Ring for manual adjustment, Leica moment modes, APO-certified optics, and CAI Photo Authenticity Protection, thus differentiating it from the base variant.
For those unaware, APO-certified optics lenses minimize color fringing and chromatic aberration, thus ensuring sharper and more accurate photos.

If we talk about the video support, it supports 8K@30fps and 4K@120fps with gyro-EIS. On the front is a 50MP camera with autofocus.
The phone packs a large 6,800mAh battery and supports 90W wired fast charging (HyperCharge), along with 50W wireless and reverse charging. On the connectivity front, it includes Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, IR blaster, and dual-satellite communication.

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra’s Leica Edition is available in China for CNY 7,999, which is approximately INR 1.02 lakh for the 16GB/512GB variant. The 1TB variant is expected to cost even more. That said, given the ongoing chip and memory shortages and the current state of the Indian rupee, smartphone prices are expected to rise further.
The global launch, including the Indian launch, is expected in the first quarter of 2026.
