What makes this even more significant is that this is being seen as the first major AI summit hosted in the global south. The five-day summit is focused on one simple but powerful idea — making AI work for everyone. The India AI Impact Summit 2026 will continue till February 20, 2026 and has already recorded over 35,000 registrations from over 100 countries.

In the run-up to the main event, several pre-summit activities were held across states like Gujarat and Kerala. These sessions focused on practical AI use cases tailored to local needs

The larger goal of the summit is expected to spark collaboration around shared AI infrastructure, including joint computing power, common resources, and clearer frameworks for key sectors. If executed well, this will help India become a top AI center.

There was also an official warm-up event, known as the Elets India AI Summit. Held on January 22 at the Eros Hotel in Delhi, it served as an official warm-up for the India AI Summit by covering topics like smart government use, building AI hardware networks, and safe AI practices.

Taken together, the India AI Impact Summit 2026 is shaping up to be more than a standalone conference. It reflects a broader effort to build momentum around AI innovation in the country and encourage collaboration.
