Ubisoft just surprised users by announcing the upcoming release of the Rayman Legends Retold, a fresh version of the famous 2013 game.

The game is set to launch on October 1, 2026. Sony showed it at their State of Play event, giving users a closer look at what to expect.

You can play it on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. Additionally, it will also support cloud gaming services like GeForce Now.

What Makes This Version Special

This is not just an ordinary version. Ubisoft rebuilt the whole game using their Frostbite Engine.

This is the same engine used for The Division games, meaning the graphics are now in 3D, but the game still looks bright and colourful.

The story is much bigger now.

There is a new bad guy and a fresh ending, while all the main characters now have voices, something that was missing from the original game.

It also adds new action segments where players can ride dragons and shoot fireballs.

There are four new musical levels plus a whole new world to explore. All levels are now connected, so the world feels more real and immersive.

Additionally, the soccer mini-game called Kung Foot is also back with improved controls for that added fun.

Price and Versions

The game costs $39.99 in the US, which translates to around INR 3,800. This is a good deal for old fans and new players alike.

If you pre-order, you will receive the Hoodlum Havoc pack, which includes two costumes from Rayman 3.

The Standard Edition has the main game plus Rayman Origins: Enhanced Edition, which runs in 4K at 60 FPS with new items and better controls.

The Deluxe Edition is digital only and adds four retro costumes and an art gallery.

Meanwhile, the Launch Edition is exclusive only in stores. It comes with physical items like a map and pictures.

How the Game Plays

Hands-on tests show the game feels smooth. The jumping and fighting work just like the original. Rayman can still jump, punch enemies, kick, and swing on vines. Everything feels satisfying.

The dragon rides let you shoot fireballs fast or charge up big attacks. You can break walls and dodge obstacles by rolling.

You can play with up to four friends on the same couch. Sadly, there is no online multiplayer option.

Conclusion

It has been a long period of around 13 years since the original game was launched. Rayman Legends Retold brings back the famous hero for the new players.

Brand producer Loïc Gounon said they wanted to keep everything fans love. The original game gave them a perfect base to add more Rayman story.

Rayman Legends Retold will launch on October 1, 2026. You can pre-order it now on all platforms.
