After months of leaks, whispers and endless speculation, Apple has finally made it official. The iPhone 17e is here.
Aimed at buyers who want the Apple experience without spending a lot of money, the new model builds on the iPhone 16e with thoughtful upgrades rather than flashy changes. While it’s not a radical overhaul, it’s more of Apple’s way of refining what already works, making it a little more tempting to upgrade.

iPhone 17e Specifications
On the power front, the iPhone 17e will be powered by Apple’s own A19 chip, with a 6-core CPU, 4-core GPU, and 16-core Neural Engine, which is claimed to deliver smooth performance for tasks like image editing and ray-tracing gaming.
At the same time, the iPhone 17e features a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display with Ceramic Shield 2 for better scratch resistance and up to 1200 nits HDR brightness.
The camera remains the same as the previous iPhone 16e with a single 48MP Fusion camera, offering optical-quality 2x Telephoto, and 4K Dolby Vision video at 60fps.
That said, battery life feels a bit underwhelming. Apple has not increased the battery capacity, which remains around 4005mAh. However, the phone now pairs that battery with Apple’s new C1X modem, its in-house cellular chip that is claimed to be up to two times faster than the C1 modem used in the iPhone 16e. So while the battery size stays the same, performance and connectivity speeds are expected to see a noticeable boost on paper.

The C1X modem brings 2x faster performance than predecessors and guarantees 50% charge in 30 minutes via USB-C and 15W MagSafe wireless charging. Other than that, it also includes satellite connectivity for Messages, Emergency SOS, and Face ID security.
Beyond the iPhone 17e: Everything Else Apple Announced
Other than the iPhone 17e, Apple also unveiled the new iPad Air, in 11-inch and 13-inch sizes, packing the M4 chipset for power, which is believed to be faster than the M3 models.
iPad Air’s M4 chip consists of 12GB unified memory and 120GB/s bandwidth, with an 8-core CPU, 9-core GPUand an enhanced Neural Engine.

The iPad Air will ship with iPadOS 26, bringing a refreshed Liquid Glass design that gives the interface a more fluid and modern look. The update also introduces more intuitive windowing, a proper menu bar for smoother multitasking, and improved Files and Preview apps, making everyday tasks feel closer to a desktop experience.
Interestingly, the new windowing system makes multitasking far more flexible. You can now smoothly resize app windows and position them exactly where you want. Plus, you can keep more apps open at the same time.
For connectivity, the in-house N1 wireless chip enables Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6. The cellular variants will pack C1X chip.
Additionally, the 2026 iPad Air packs accessories like Apple Pencil Pro, Magic Keyboard, a landscape 12MP Center Stage camera, and stereo speakers.

Overview
