After successfully launching the iPhone 17 Series, Apple is gearing up for a significant launch event in early 2026. Rumours have highlighted the unveiling of the iPhone 17e and a new MacBook. The MacBook model will be aimed at budget-conscious consumers.
iPhone 17e Features
The iPhone 17e is expected to debut around spring 2026. The phone will reportedly feature the A19 processor, the same processor that was introduced with the flagship iPhone 17 models. The iPhone 17e is positioned as an everyday iPhone with a flagship appeal but at an affordable price range.

The iPhone 17e is rumoured to have a front camera with an 18-megapixel sensor and Apple’s Centre Stage technology for enhancing video conferencing and selfie experience. While the rear camera will be the same single-lens setup as the previous iPhone 16e.
Some leaks and rumours suggest that the iPhone 17e will be powered by a downclocked version of the A19 chipset, which is expected to be less powerful. If we talk about the real-world performance of the device, then it is expected to be the same as the iPhone 15 Pro, which uses the A17 Pro chipset.
If you believe in the rumours and talk about the daily usage, then the users would hardly notice a difference compared to the iPhone 17.
The Affordable MacBook
Another big update is that Apple is ready to introduce a low-cost MacBook, which is rare for Apple, but the move can be seen as an effort to compete with budget laptops like Chromebooks and affordable PCs.
The MacBook will be powered by an A-series chip, most likely the A18 Pro, the same chipset that came with the iPhone 16 Pro. The device is rumoured to have a 13-inch display and might have a simpler design, a single USB-C port, or 8 GB RAM to keep the cost low.
Expected Pricing
Regarding pricing, it is anticipated to fall between $699 and $900 USD, which translates to a price range of approximately INR 60,000-90,000 in India. The prices are just rumoured prices and can be changed by Apple at the time of launch. The current affordable model is the MacBook Air, which starts from INR 99,900 in India.

The affordable MacBook will be targeting the students and budget buyers who might otherwise consider non-Apple products. As per the folks at Macworld, the MacBook is already in early production and is expected to launch in the first half of 2026.
Apple’s Approach Towards Affordability
Needless to say, these upcoming devices emphasise Apple’s intent to diversify its offerings, especially in the affordable section, without cutting corners in processing power or design. These launches could mark a notable shift in Apple’s strategy to capture a broader market segment worldwide, especially among students and cost-sensitive buyers.
The rumours are sourced from multiple credible outlets, including Bloomberg, MacRumors, and 9to5Mac, making these developments highly plausible as Apple approaches its next product cycle.
