Leaks indicate the SM8975 uses Qualcomm’s next-generation Oryon CPU in an 8-core 2+3+3 layout: two prime cores at up to 5.01 GHz (a first for a Qualcomm mobile chip), three performance cores around 4.0 GHz, and three efficiency cores around 3.74 GHz.
Leaks point to an Adreno 850 GPU for SM8975, with LPDDR6 memory support and UFS 5.0 storage using dual high-bandwidth lanes.

Tasks like motion estimation, upscaling, and frame reconstruction are said to be split across both processors to reduce GPU load and power draw, though Qualcomm has not confirmed these details. Leaks also indicate that the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro features hardware ray-tracing support on the Adreno 850.
Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro Price and Expected Phones
The higher-end SM8975 variant is expected to carry a noticeable cost premium over the standard chip, driven primarily by its advanced 2nm process and LPDDR6 memory configuration.
Qualcomm has not confirmed pricing. That cost difference is expected to pass through to consumers, so phones using the higher-end SM8975 chip will likely start at higher prices than their standard-chip counterparts.
